About the Author
Ryan Tam is a husband, father, radiographer, clinical educator, content creator, and follower of Jesus—grateful for God's grace in every season of life.
He currently serves as an Emergency Department Senior Radiographer and Clinical Educator in Sydney, Australia, with over 20 years of clinical experience—including more than 18 years in public healthcare and 2 years in private practice. Ryan holds a Master of Medical Imaging and develops online clinical history-based radiography courses to help practitioners improve diagnostic care. Before stepping into education and senior roles, he spent many years as a frontline shift worker, navigating the pressures of healthcare while raising a young family with limited support.
He also completed a Bachelor of Ministry, a journey that spanned 9.5 years—reflecting his perseverance and deep hunger to understand God's truth, especially in relation to parenting and discipleship. Over the years, Ryan has served actively in his local church—as a Sunday School teacher, cell group leader, and basketball ministry leader—while trying to live out his faith in everyday parenting. These experiences deepened his conviction that discipleship begins at home, and that leading children to Christ is not about being perfect parents—it’s about being faithful ones.
Ryan and his wife, Carrie, have one daughter, Hermione. Their home has been shaped by the joys and tensions of real life—school runs, work stress, spiritual dryness, and God’s timely breakthroughs. It is within this very ordinary soil that A Practical Guide to Lead Your Children to Christ was born.
Though Ryan led the writing and structure of the guide, this project is truly a family effort. Carrie played a vital role in content shaping and quality assurance—providing prayerful insights and asking important questions to ensure the guide is clear, biblical, and helpful. Hermione contributed her voice in another way—sharing personal struggles and testimonies, joining Ryan in the YouTube series Christ-Centered Family Devotion, and participating in many of the devotion recordings that now shape the heart of this book. Her courage to reflect publicly as a child navigating faith is woven throughout the devotionals.
The Tam family hopes this guide will not only encourage parents, but also empower them to walk alongside their children, learning together. Through mistakes, questions, victories, and grace, they’ve come to believe that God is already at work—and that Jesus is both the goal and the guide.
